The conceptual site plan for a 3-story self-storage facility totaling nearly 105,000 sq. ft. to be located along Ga. Highway 54 just west of Brandywine Boulevard in Fayetteville was approved April 23 by the Fayetteville Planning and Zoning Commission.

Commissioners unanimously approved the proposal, with the condition that the applicant will work with city planning staff to ensure that elevations will have the percentage of brick agreed to by commissioners.

The 3.1-acre property is situated on a larger 10.92-acre tract and is adjacent to the Brandywine Shoppes to the east and Care Physicians Fayette complex to the west. The self-storage facility will front the highway.

The 104,580 sq. ft. facility will be climate-controlled.

Right-in, right-out access already exists along Hwy. 54 West.

“Self-storage/multi” facilities are allowed in the city’s C-3 (commercial) districts. The self-storage/multi designation applies to multi-story commercial structures with interior access to storage units which are not visible from the exterior of the structure, are climate-controlled and do not allow outside storage.
