Tennis is the first of the spring sports to begin state playoff action in the Georgia High School Association, with first-round matches this week.

In Region 2-AAAAAAA, East Coweta has the fourth-seeded boys team that will travel to Camden County and the second-seeded girls squad set to host Colquitt County.

Both Northgate teams finished fourth in Region 5-AAAAAA and will be on the road, the boys at Harrison and the girls at Creekview.

Starr’s Mill took both Region 3-AAAAA crowns in last week’s tournament and will host the Eagle’s Landing boys and the Woodland-Stockbridge girls this week. Both McIntosh teams came in second in that region and will host the Woodland boys and the Jones County girls. Whitewater’s boys are seeded fourth and the girls are seeded third, both of whom play at Ola.

First-round matches must be completed by April 20 according to official GHSA brackets and the second round will be wrapped up by April 26.
