The Bennett’s Mill Middle School band was selected to participate in the Heritage Music Festival recently in Anaheim, Calif.
They received the Gold Award and tied for first place with a Division 1A high school while also receiving the Spirit Award for instrumental groups.
According to a spokesperson, the band spent only three days practicing the music they performed at the festival.
The band director is Jennifer Seda.
