Charles W. Teague, age 91, of Gainesville passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.

Born September 22, 1926 in Hogansville, Ga., Charles was the son of the late Charles L. and Mamie (Cottingham) Teague.  He was educated in local schools, graduating from North Clayton High School in Atlanta and was a proud veteran of World War II, having served as a Seabee in the Phillipines.  After marriage to the former Joyce Bryan in 1946, they lived and raised their four boys in College Park and Fayetteville before eventually settling in Gainesville. He worked for Delta Airlines in the parts department for over 30 years.

Charles loved fishing, gardening, traveling and, most of all, music. He was a guitar player and sang tenor with various bluegrass bands for many years and had a wonderful collection of guitars which he proudly gifted to his children and grandchildren.  Charles was a gentle and sweet man who had many friends, a testament to his caring and loving nature. He was a Christian and a faithful servant of God who loved his family and was a devoted and wonderful husband and father. His grandchildren adored him. He will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Joyce; his brother, Donald; and his son, Joel.

He is survived by his sons Kerry (Katie), Randy, and Warren (Margaret); his grandchildren, Graham (Carrie), Lucas (Caroline), Hannah (Michael), Sara, Anne (Matt), Jeff (Marie) and Tom; six great-grandchildren; his sisters, Mildred, Lorena, Linda (Don); and a host of family and friends.

Funeral Services for Charles was held at 1 p.m. on Monday, November 6, 2017 at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville Chapel, with Dr. Charles Blackstock of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Dawsonville officiating. Burial followed at Camp Memorial Park in Fayetteville.
