Thieves still finding a lot of unlocked vehicles in Fayette

The period of July 4-11 came with several entering auto incidents in Peachtree City and unincorporated Fayette County.

Peachtree City police reports noted that a vehicle was entered at the Line Creek Nature Area on Ga. Highway 54 West on July 4. Reported at approximately 11:30 a.m., the owner said her unlocked vehicle had been entered and numerous items stolen.

A vehicle on Double Trace Lane off Robinson Road was entered between midnight and 7:45 a.m. on July 6. Though the method of entry was not noted, the owner said while nothing was missing, a pair of sunglasses that did not belong to her was found in the car, reports said.

A Double Trace Lane residence had a vehicle entered on July 6. The forced entry resulted in the theft of a swimsuit, according to reports.

A July 5 entering auto occurred at a business on Denesha Todd Court off Ga. Highway 54 in east Fayette.

Sheriff Barry Babb said an unlocked vehicle was entered during the nighttime hours. The only thing taken was the vehicle’s hood, Babb said.

A second entering auto incident came on July 7 at a residence on Ga. Highway 54 West between midnight and 7 a.m. Babb said the unlocked vehicle had $250 in car parts stolen.
