Robert “Bob” Allen Basham was born on July 8, 1948 in Bowling Green, Ky. He passed away peacefully at home on June 29, 2017 in Thomaston, Ga.
Bob was the son of LTC Ret US Army Eldon “Pete” and Leonore “Lee” Webb Basham of Fayetteville, Ga.
Bob was a plant manager at Dobco in Manchester for years and finished his career as an estate manager where he retired doing what he loved to do, working, enjoying the outdoors, hunting, and fishing.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Joy Basham of Buford, Ga., his son Michael Basham (Kristen) of Flowery Branch, Ga., two grandchildren, Collin and Katelyn Basham of Flowery Branch, Ga., his dear friend Susannah Dobbs of Concord, Ga., and his former wife and friend, Diane Basham of Fayetteville, Ga. He lovingly held other family members and friends close to his heart.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Pete and Lee Basham, his sister Pat Harrison, and his best friend Larry Raulerson.
The service will be held at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home 628 N. Church Street, Thomaston, Ga. on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 p.m.- 2 p.m.
Bob will be laid to rest at a later date in a place where there will be eternal peace and quiet as he would have wanted.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in honor of Robert “Bob” Allen Basham to the Upson County Cancer Car Ministry, a local charity that provides cancer patients transportation to necessary treatments, at 300 Upson Avenue, Thomaston, Ga. 30286.
