McIntosh graduate Duke Kinamon just wrapped up a stellar collegiate baseball season as his team saw exceptional success as well.
The Stanford sophomore was selected to the All-Pac 12 team a couple of weeks ago along with five of his teammates. The Cardinal posted its best regular season since 2004, finishing second in the conference, and was ranked eighth in the nation going into the NCAA Regionals. The team’s season ended there with a 42-16 overall record.
Kinamon got a base hit and scored a run in Wednesday’s final game of the season, a 4-2 loss to Cal State Fullerton in the regional.
For the season he had a .986 fielding percentage at second base, stole 13 bases — the most for a Cardinal since 2009 — and had 13 multi-hit games.
He also was an honorable mention honoree on the Academic All-Pac 12 team.
