The Fayette County Branch of the NAACP in partnership with the Oasis Montage Academic and Performing Arts Center will present a Black History program in celebration of Black History Month. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 25. The theme is “Make America Remember Black History.”
The program will be held at the Gospel Community Church located at 383 Ga. Highway 85 North, behind the new “This Is It” restaurant in Fayetteville. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. and the program begins at 3 p.m.
There will be informative skits about slavery, The Alabama church bombing, Rosa Parks and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have A Dream” speech. Program content is intended to enlighten the public on important events in American history that need to be remembered.
The Fayette County Branch invites the community, churches, fraternities, sororities, organizations and businesses to participate and attend the Black History program. Space is limited and reservations are recommended.
