This month, Scouts in Cub Scout Pack 70 hosted their second annual Pinewood Derby at Evergreen Church. The Pinewood Derby is a racing event for Cub Scouts in the Boy Scouts of America.

Cub Scouts, with the help of parents, build their own cars from wood, usually from kits containing a block of pine, plastic wheels and metal axles.

Over 20 scouts from Pack 70 participated. First and second place winners and Best Design from each den will compete at district in March. The race was followed with a Blue and Gold Banquet, a birthday party celebrating scouting.

Cub Scout Pack 70 meets every other Thursday at Evergreen Church in the “Great Room.”  Those interested in learning more about membership or being a part of the Scouting Committee may contact Rick Viall at [email protected].  The primary duty of the committee is to provide male affirmation to the boys and have a good time.
