The Fayette Master Gardener Association invites the public to a free lecture scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 10:30 a.m. at the Peachtree City Library, 201 Willowbend Road in Peachtree City.

The topic is “Do’s and Don’ts for Home Pest Control.”

Teresa Bieriger, Newnan office manager for Active Pest Control, will present and will address controversial issues concerning mosquitos, termites, neo-nicotinoids, vegetable garden design considerations, treatment of pollinators and beneficials, differences in chemicals’ effects on gender, age, pets, fish, birds & wildlife. She will discuss these subjects and their relationships to commercial pest control in and around the home, as well as entertaining Q&A after the presentation.

Teresa is a State of Georgia Certified Operator in both Wood Destroying Organisms and Household Pest Control. She also has her Commercial Applicator license for Mosquito Control, and continues her education at the Griffin campus of UGA where she has completed several programs: Urban and Structural Pest Management, Integrated Pest Management Workshop, and the Termite Control Workshop. This month, she attends the three=day Georgia Pest Control Association Winter Conference in Athens at UGA.
