MLK parade, program Jan. 16

A parade and program honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., sponsored by the Fayette County branch of the NAACP, is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 16, in Fayetteville.

Parade participants line up in the Fayette County High School parking lot between 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. Breakfast items will be available for sale at the school beginning at 9 a.m.

The parade begins at 10:30, proceeding from the school down Hood Avenue to Hwy. 85, Hwy. 54 and back to the school.

A commemorative program begins at 11:30 a.m. in the Sams Auditorium, 205 Lafayette Drive in Fayetteville. Admission is free.
