The Fayette County Branch of the NAACP will put on its annual celebration of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
The event is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 16, beginning with a parade at 10:30 a.m. A program will follow the parade at 11:30 a.m. in the Sams Auditorium with keynote speaker Dr. Portia Shields. Awards will be presented for academic achievement and essays on this year’s theme “Freedom to Dream Big.”
