UPDATE, Dec. 5, 11:20 a.m. — Peachtree City resident Marcia “Mia” Reno who was missing for 10 days has been found. Reno had stayed in wooded areas on the city’s south side before contacting a homeowner along Ga. Highway 74 South during the nighttime hours Dec. 5, police said.

Reno left her residence on foot on Nov. 25, according to Peachtree City Police Department spokesperson Odilia Bergh. Reno resides in the Fishers Bank subdivision off McIntosh Trail south of Ga. Highway 54.

Reno was located Monday night when she walked up to a home along Ga. Highway 74 south of the city. She was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and was subsequently reunited with her family, said Bergh.

Bergh said Reno is believed to have been in the wooded areas on the city’s south side during the time she went missing, adding that there is no information indicating that she had anything to eat or drink during the period.

Searches over the period failed to locate the woman who, according to family members, said she may be suffering from dementia, Bergh said.

Bergh said Reno was last seen wearing black pants, rubber boots and carrying a black, blue and gray backpack. Reno reportedly speaks with a British accent.

A search of numerous areas across the city over the weekend, including on ATVs, failed to locate Reno. Wooded areas of the city were of special focus, said Bergh.

Police said a woman spotted in the area of Ga. Highway 74 and Peachtree Parkway over the weekend was an area resident, not Reno.

Bergh said that, due to her medical condition, Reno had previously walked away from home, though not for such a length of time.
