The south side of Peachtree City was ground zero for thieves on Nov. 20 as vehicles were entered at nearly two dozen homes. Police urge residents to always keep vehicles locked, even at home.

Peachtree City Police Department spokesman Matt Myers said all 23 entering auto incidents were reported on Nov. 20. All occurred on the city’s south side.

The entries involved vehicles on Claridge Curve, Marks Style Road, Sterling Point and Copperplate Lane off Robinson Road and near South Peachtree Parkway, Script Falls off Robinson and Calgary Drive, Chadwick Drive and Glen Heather off Braelinn Road.

Myers said the vehicles at each of the homes were unlocked, adding that the vehicles at 13 of the locations had nothing stolen.

Myers said items stolen included a handgun, three cell phone chargers, headphones, a briefcase and clothes.

There was also a vehicle theft on Nov. 20 on Atwood Circle off Braelinn Road. Myers said the 2008 Ford Explorer was unlocked and the keys were in the vehicle.

An entering auto on Nov. 18 occurred at the Home Depot off Ga. Highway 54 West. Myers said power tools were stolen from a trailer.

Law enforcement always reminds residents to never leave vehicles unlocked, even at home, and never leave valuables in plain sight.
