The Southern Crescent Water Polo team placed second in Division I play of the Georgia High School Water Polo Association. The league consists of 24 teams across three divisions as well as a girls league consisting of six teams. This was Southern Crescent’s first championship game at the annual state tournament, having placed no higher than third in the past.
After winning 15-1 and 17-6 in their first two games in the tournament, they advanced to the championship match against St. Pius, where Coach Tim Watson’s team suffered a 4-3 loss to conclude a 16-4 season.
Seniors Vince Bartolomei, Nick Palmer, and Adam Koenig and Sophmore, Luke Presley were selected to the Division I All-Star Team.
