A Fayette County man was arrested Sept. 24 on aggravated assault charges after he struck a juvenile relative in the head with a wrench during a fight.
James L. Vazquez, 40, of New Hope Road, was charged with aggravated assault and simple assault, according to Fayette County Jail records.
Sheriff Barry Babb said the incident occurred at the Vazquez home on Sept. 24 at approximately 9:15 p.m.
Babb said Vazquez and a juvenile nephew were fighting and, at one point during the altercation, Vazquez struck his nephew in the head with a wrench.
The juvenile was transported to Piedmont Fayette Hospital for treatment.
Vazquez was transported to the Fayette County Jail.
