Committee members of the 2016 ClubCorp Charity Classic met recently to finalize details of their community event fundraiser scheduled for Sept. 10 at Flat Creek Country Club.
The family-friendly event is open to the public and features fun-filled activities such as golf, a par 3/hole-in-one contest, a pickleball tournament, a rock wall, inflatables, a dunk tank and a mechanical surfboard. The event lasts into the night when kids can enjoy a Movie-on-the-Green while their parents kick back at Disco Night in the club.
Proceeds from the event benefit three charitable causes: Augie’s Quest, which supports worldwide research to eradicate ALS or Lou Gehrig’s Disease; ClubCorp’s Employee Partners Care Foundation, a 501 c (3) fund to help Employee Partners and their families in need of financial assistance in times of crisis; and Bloom Our Youth, Inc. a Fayette County-based nonprofit which provides support and services for child abuse victims.
“Each year we open our doors to the community to help those in need,” said ClubCorp general manager Steve Soriano. “We hope that everyone will come out this year to have a great time at Flat Creek while supporting several very worthy causes.”
