Learn about how to save for your children’s college education at a free seminar Thursday, Aug. 25, at 10:30 a.m. at the Peachtree City Library. It’s part of the library’s 2016 Financial Literacy Initiative.
In this particular seminar, participants will learn how much college will likely cost in the future. Tax-advantaged ways to save for college – including 529 plans, Coverdell educational savings accounts, custodial accounts and U.S. savings bonds – will also be discussed.
The role of financial aid, including how need is determined and how assets are classified for federal aid purposes, will be covered as well as other ways to fill the college funding gap.
The College Planning seminar is free and open to the public. Register online now at: http://collegesaving.eventbrite.com.
