The Hogansville Charitable Trust has announced Piedmont Newnan Hospital as the sponsoring partner of the 19th annual Hogansville Hummingbird Festival, scheduled for Oct. 15-16.
“We are extremely grateful for the generous sponsorship of Piedmont Newnan Hospital,” said festival chairman Todd Pike. “Their new hospital on Poplar Road is a short drive from Hogansville. They feel like part of our community, and their support of the Hummingbird Festival really shows that.”
Work is underway on the new Poplar Road interchange on I-85. “When the new exit is completed, the hospital will be even more accessible to residents of Troup and Meriwether counties,” said Hogansville Mayor Bill Stankiewicz.
“Piedmont Newnan Hospital is pleased to be part of the Hogansville Hummingbird Festival,” said Mike Robertson, Chief Executive Officer for Piedmont Newnan Hospital. “It has a worthy mission, and it’s also a lot of fun for families across west central Georgia. My family and I look forward to attending the festival this year. Our hospital meets a longstanding need for expanded healthcare services in the community, and we’re honored to care for Hogansville residents and their families.”
The Hummingbird Festival is the primary fundraising arm of the Hogansville Charitable Trust, a private, nonprofit 501(c)3 Georgia corporation created for the purpose of renovating and preserving historic and municipal properties in and around the city. It is governed by a volunteer board of directors composed of business and community leaders. Funds generated by the Trust over the years have been donated to the City of Hogansville and have been matched by federal and state grants, resulting in over $2.5 million in city improvements.
The Hogansville Hummingbird Festival is held the third weekend of every October in historic downtown Hogansville, where Main Street is transformed into a bustling showcase of over 100 arts and crafts vendors from across the region. The festival also includes a large food court, three separate entertainment stages, a Student Art Exhibit, open storefronts, and a grassy area with children’s rides and activities.
The festival is free and open to the public, with free parking, shuttles, handicap access, and ample security. To learn more about the Hogansville Hummingbird Festival, visit www.HummingbirdFestival.com.
