Obama: Leadership missing in action

Since Munich 1972 Islamic terrorists have murdered thousands of innocent civilians of all ages, races and religions in the USA, Europe and countries as diverse as Argentina, Indonesia, Australia, India, Russia, Africa and now Turkey and Bangladesh.

Airports worldwide act as if under siege, causing travel to be a headache instead of a pleasure. As long as we all continue passively to remain on the defensive, they will inevitably to grow stronger.

The USA is still the most powerful country and should lead the world in exterminating this scourge. The President should convoke a meeting of the leaders of all the countries attacked, plus peace-loving Muslims and others willing to enlist, to unite, develop and activate a joint plan to destroy ISIS and its affiliates once and for all, the first step being to cut off the head of the snake in Raqqa.

With determination and such vast combined resources it should be as straightforward as an elephant crushing a walnut under its foot (though there will sadly always be isolated crazed loonies).

But a leader is needed to set things in motion and sadly Obama is non-existent. He ignores the events of the past 50 years, including 9/11, nor can he admit that we have a problem or even identify it. Oh, for a Churchill or Reagan!
