Two local golfers brought home titles in recent weeks at the latest stops on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour.
Sierra Fink of Peachtree City won first place in the girls U13 division of the Birmingham Junior Shootout at Limestone Springs Country Club the first weekend of June.
Fink scored an 85 on her first round and an 86 on her second round for a tournament total of 171. She finished 14 shots ahead of the second-place golfer.
Another highlight for Fink was scoring birdies on consecutive holes for the first time in her junior golf career.
“The first day of the Birmingham Junior Shootout was the lowest score I’ve shot all season,” she said in a post-round interview.
The tour stopped at Sharpsburg’s Canongate I Golf Club over Memorial Day weekend and Rogelio Gerena of Peachtree City put together three solid rounds to win the boys U10 division with a total score of 300.
