Peachtree City saw 13 entering auto incidents during April 25-29. Most of the incidents occurred on April 28 at residences off Willow Road near Ga. Highway 74 South.
In total, there were 11 entering auto incidents on April 28. Ten of those incidents occurred at residences off Willow Road, including six on Hilltop Drive, two on Willow Road, one of Willow Creek Drive and one on Elm Drive.
The majority of the incidents involved vehicles that were unlocked, reports said. Among the items stolen were wallets, laptop computers, sunglasses, cash, headsets, purses, a gun and prescription medication, police said. In some cases nothing was reported missing though the vehicles had been rummaged through, police added.
A final incident on April 28 occurred at a business on Dividend Drive. The unlocked vehicle was entered and a iPhone 6 was stolen.
An April 25 entering auto occurred at a business on Kelly Drive off Hwy. 74 South. The owner reported tools missing from a locked vehicle, though the he told officers he had previously locked the vehicle.
Another entering auto incident occurred on April 29 at a residence on Rockspray Ridge near Crosstown Drive. The method of entry and the items stolen were not known at press time.
Peachtree City Police Department spokesman Mark Brown said it is not currently known if one individual or a group was responsible for the thefts.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office reported that two entering auto incidents occurred in the mid-afternoon hours of April 29 in the area of McCurry Park on McDonough Road near Fayetteville.
One of the vehicles had a rear passenger window broken and a purse stolen while a second vehicle had a wallet stolen after a forced entry was accomplished by disabling a front door lock, said Sheriff Barry Babb.
