McCurry Park in Fayetteville was the site of three entering auto incidents on April 11. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office will be placing advisory signs in all county parks and has begun installing video cameras in park areas.
The three entering auto incidents occurred between 7-8 p.m. on April 11 at the McCurry Park ball fields on McDonough Road.
All three of the vehicles were locked and had locks damaged or windows smashed in, said Sheriff Barry Babb, adding that purses and other items were stolen.
Babb noted that the purses were visible in each of the vehicles.
The sheriff’s office will be placing signs in all county parks advising motorists not to leave valuables in plain sight and to report suspicious activity.
Babb said a video camera system is in place in Kiwanis Park on Redwine Road, with another currently being installed at Kenwood Park. He said plans call for camera systems to be installed at all county parks.
