The McIntosh Chiefs and Sandy Creek Patriots have reached the Elite Eight in their respective classifications of the GHSA state basketball tournament.
The Chiefs advanced in AAAAA with an 87-84 win over Gainesville tonight. They will face Riverwood Friday at Columbus State in the quarterfinals. The semifinals are Saturday at Columbus State and the championship game is March 4 at the Macon Centreplex.
The Patriots won 85-71 tonight over Bainbridge in AAAA. They play Lithonia Thursday at Fort Valley State in their quarterfinal game. The semifinals are Saturday at Fort Valley State and the championship game is March 3 at the Macon Centreplex.
