The South Metro Rose Society Executive Board has awarded this year’s American Rose Society Bronze Honor Medal to Craig Epps for outstanding contributions to the society.
Epps has been an SMRS member since 2009 and has served as treasurer since 2011, keeping meticulous financial records to insure the smooth functioning of the society. He also served on the Garden Committee responsible for taking care of the roses in front of Fayetteville’s Heritage Bank where the society meets. For several years he has participated in the community rose pruning clinic and has done many jobs at the annual Rose Shows.
The ARS Bronze Honor Medal is awarded annually at the discretion of local rose societies and is the highest award that can be given at the local society level for service to the society over and above what is usually expected.
South Metro Rose Society is affiliated with the American Rose Society located in Shreveport, La. The group meets the fourth Monday of Jan-Apr and Aug-Oct at 6:30 p.m. at the Heritage Bank, 440 N. Jeff Davis Dr. in Fayetteville.
