A homeowner at his residence off Ga. Highway 54 east of Fayetteville sustained a non-life-threatening injury on Dec. 2 after being shot in his driveway by a man who immediately fled the scene.
Sheriff Barry Babb said the incident occurred when a middle-aged couple returned to their home after church.
The couple pulled into the driveway and got out of their vehicle when they were approached by a male wearing a hoodie who ran up to them with a weapon drawn and fired at the male homeowner, Babb said.
The homeowner was struck in an extremity, at which time the shooter ran and fled the scene, said Babb.
The homeowner was transported for medical treatment for the non-life-threatening injury, Babb said.
