Advent celebration planned tonight
Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City invites all to a Family Advent Celebration on Wednesday, Dec. 2, at 6:30 p.m. Intern pastor Young Kim will offer reflections on the season after worshipers hear music by The Shepherd’s Band and Shepherd’s Flock Singers, play “Advent Jeopardy,” and see a skit entitled, “A Gift for Advent.” Everyone will be offered a musical instrument upon entering worship, allowing all to participate in playing carols. The evening is planned for people of all ages, and there is no charge.

Advent services announced
Word of God Lutheran Church will hold Wednesday Evening Advent services on Dec. 2, 9, and 16 at 7 p.m. The service is an informal gathering around tables with an Advent devotion, followed by desserts.  All are welcome. Bratcher to introduce newest book
Local author Connie Campbell Bratcher will introduce her newest book of inspirational poetry, “Sing Unto the LORD” — hymn titles in poetry, at Immanuel Bible Seminary’s annual Christmas banquet on Dec. 4. ‘Becoming’ to host Celine Sparks
Celine Sparks, renowned author, humorist and Christian Woman Magazine columnist, will be the guest speaker at the Dec. 5 Saturday Brunch of Becoming: A Woman’s Ministry, set for 9:30 a.m. at Peachtree City church of Christ, 201 South Peachtree Parkway in Peachtree City.  There is no charge to attend. Blue Christmas service set for Dec. 7
Christ Our Shepherd offers its Blue Christmas on Monday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m., at the church. Designed for everyone, the service is comforting, reflective and prayerful, of benefit particularly to those who have experienced personal loss. This year’s focus, “Somewhere in My Memory,” expands to include those experiencing or caring for persons with Alzheimer’s disease. The service features the COS Flute Choir, and all are welcome to Holy Communion.

Fayette Fiddlers to perform
The Fayette Fiddlers, a group of string players of all ages, will perform the beautiful songs of Christmas at a free concert Tuesday, Dec. 8., at 6:30 p.m. at Carriage Lane Presbyterian Church in Peacht ree City.
