There were reports of three burglaries in central and south Fayette County during the week of Oct. 19-26. Entry to the homes in each cases came after a rear door or carport door was forced.
Sheriff Barry Babb said an Oct. 24 burglary on Ga. Highway 85 South occurred between approximately 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Upon returning home, the resident found the window in the carport door broken and called deputies. Investigators also found pry marks on the door, Babb said.
Inspection of the home revealed that a gold necklace and a small amount of money had been taken, said Babb.
Another Oct. 24 burglary occurred on Snead Road in southeast Fayette, with the break-in happening after 9:30 a.m., said Babb.
Babb said entry to the home came after the rear deck door had been kicked-in.
Among the items stolen were a shotgun, a jewelry armoire, two small computers, miscellaneous jewelry and watches, said Babb.
A third burglary on Oct. 24 occurred between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. at a residence on Old Ga. Highway 85 in south central Fayette County.
