COS remembers 40 years Aug. 29
Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church will celebrate four decades of ministry in Peachtree City on Aug. 29 with a “Thanksgiving for 40 Years” dinner and celebration. The dinner begins at 6 p.m.; tickets are $5. The evening will feature video vignettes of the church’s history, greetings from some of the church’s past intern pastors, and remarks from the church’s pastors. All current and former members, as well as interested people, are invited.

St. Paul plans 5th Sunday events
On Sunday, Aug. 30, St.Paul Lutheran Church will be having its Fifth Sunday Food Drive with a combined service held at 10 a.m.  There will also be a Back Pack Blessing and Pizza Party to follow.  St. Paul Lutheran Church is at 700 Ardenlee Parkway, Peachtree City. Aug. 30 is Music Day at COS
Aug. 30 is Music Sunday at Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City. At both the 8:30 and 11 a.m. morning services the Christ Our Shepherd Brass, Flute Choir, Clarinet Choir, and Sanctuary Choir will join forces to highlight what the church considers music’s essential role in worship. Some of the church’s extensive collection of instruments will be on display in the narthex, and Instrumental Conductor Karl Dietmeyer will be available to discuss opportunities for playing in Christ Our Shepherd’s intergenerational, ecumenical musical ensembles. COS is on the corner of Ga. Highway 54 and Peachtree Parkway.

FFBC starts ESL classes Sept. 8, 9
ESL (English as a Second Language) classes begin at Fayetteville First Baptist Church on Tuesday, Sept.  8 for evening classes and Wednesday, Sept. 9 for day classes. Registration for all classes will be on Sept. 1.  Returning students for day classes  will register from 8:30 to 10 a.m.; new day students will register from 10 a.m. to noon; and evening classes will register from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Limited childcare is provided for day students only. The church is at 205 East Stonewall Ave.
