Enjoy Bluegrass Weekend at COS
Christ Our Shepherd Lutheran Church in Peachtree City invites all to Bluegrass Weekend Aug. 22-23. Services in the sanctuary are at 6 p.m. on Saturday, and 8:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday. The “2nd Sundays” Band augmented with mandolin, fiddle, and banjo, will lead the congregation in singing such classics as “I’ll Fly Away,” “I Saw the Light,” and “Will the Circle Be Unbroken?” More recent songs by such writers as Alison Krauss and Josh Turner are also scheduled. Pastor Fritz Wiese will preach and Holy Communion will be offered at all services. The church is on the corner of Ga. Highway 54 and Peachtree Parkway.

UCFI South plans special service
Unity Christian Fellowship International (UCFI) South will host a special service,  “Connect:  Downloading Purpose & Uploading Praise,” this Sunday, Aug. 23, at 11 a.m. Special guest will be the presiding prelate, Bishop Nelson K. PUMC to offer Community Bible Study

FFBC starts ESL classes Sept. 8, 9
ESL (English as a Second Language) classes begin at Fayetteville First Baptist Church on Tuesday, Sept.  8 for evening classes and Wednesday, Sept. 9 for day classes. Registration for all classes will be on Sept. 1.  Returning students for day classes  will register from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m.; new day students will register from 10 a.m. to noon; and evening classes will register from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. First Baptist Church is at 205 East Stonewall Ave. in Fayetteville, near the Old Fayetteville Courthouse. Limited childcare is provided for day students only.

Prayer group meets at Summit
A community prayer group meets at The Summit Family Resource Center, 1373 Ga. Highway 92 S. Fayetteville, from 9:30-10:15 a.m. on Thursday mornings.  This is an inter-denominational event. Everyone is invited. Call 770-460-3335 for more information.
