A Fayette County resident has created a virtual “American Idol” via a new app.
According to the Black Enterprise web site, Morehouse grad Henry Mason’s app called Topstar is “a mobile talent contest.”
After downloading it, users can upload 21-second clips displaying their talents and urge their friends to vote for them, as the user with the most votes each month wins $100.
The app’s purpose is “to provide a fun platform free of criticism, where anyone can be a star.”
Black Enterprise called Mason one of many “millennials of color who have opted for entrepreneurship by creating their own apps and using their social media followings to build brands.
