Gently used garden tools will be for sale Wednesday, June 10, 9 a.m.-1p.m. at the Peachtree City Farmers Market to raise funds benefiting Tools For Empowerment, a project providing vocational school graduates in Haiti with the tools for success.
More than 2,100 trade tools have been provided to vocational graduates in Haiti during the first year of the Tools For Empowerment Project after being donated by members of the community and refurbished by volunteers in Peachtree City. This equipment allows young auto mechanics, carpenters, masons, plumbers and electricians in Haiti to be able to find work or start their own enterprise in a poverty-stricken nation.
The Dirt Cheap Garden Tool Sale will offer donated tools that are not appropriate to send to Haiti, such as battery powered tools, garden blowers, weed eaters, hedge trimmers, lawn rakes and lawn mowers. Also, a garden sprayer and a large brush chipper will be on offer.
