Peachtree City police on March 14 arrested a Columbus man on seven counts of entering auto at the Days Inn on Crosstown Drive.
Fernandon Lindo, 19, was charged with seven felony counts of entering auto, according to department spokesman Mark Brown.
Brown said officers responded to the Days Inn on Crosstown Drive in Peachtree City in reference to an entering auto report. He said officers arriving at the scene observed several other vehicles that were broken into by either a side glass or back window broken out.
“Evidence of the crime was found nearby which included a tire iron used to break into the vehicles and assorted articles of stolen property,” Brown said. “While at the scene collecting evidence and statements, Officer Brad Milstein noticed some suspicious behavior from one of the occupants of an upstairs room as two subjects appeared to be repeatedly looking out of the window.”
Brown said the officer contacted the occupants of the room and was able to gather enough evidence to place Lindo under arrest.
“The suspect did appear to use the tire iron to break into the vehicles, however several other vehicles were entered simply because they were unlocked,” said Brown.
Brown reminded motorist to use common sense and always lock vehicles and keep valuables out of sight.
