Units with Peachtree City Fire Rescue on Wednesday responded to a fire in progress at 105 Grenoble Road that resulted in a near total loss of the residence but without any injuries.

Department spokesman Ron Mundy said the fire call came in at 12:53 p.m., with the first units responding within three minutes.

Firefighters at the scene found heavy fire and dark smoke billowing from the front of the home, said Mundy.

“Firefighters immediately began suppressive efforts and quickly brought the fire under control,” Mundy said. “All occupants had evacuated the home by the time firefighters had arrived, however fire crews did successfully rescue a family dog that was trapped inside the burning home.”

Mundy said the home was a near total loss, adding that the investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
