Fayette County students continue to rack up musical honors with the selection of seven high school students to participate in the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra.

More than 300 students from Atlanta and the surrounding counties audition each year for one of only 120 available seats in the orchestra.

Chosen from Fayette County schools are;

Kali Edwards, Bassoon, Fayette County High;
Elise Conti, Oboe, Starr’s Mill High;
Emily Schuler, Bassoon, McIntosh High;
Alicia Zamore, Clarinet, McIntosh High;
Steven Lukehart, Trumpet, McIntosh High;
Parker Olson, Percussion, McIntosh High;
Michael Dehan, Percussion, McIntosh High.

Fayette students named as alternates are;

Errol Rhoden III, Tuba, Fayette County High; and Megan Casteneda, Clarinet, Whitewater High.

The Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra was created in 1974 to provide Atlanta’s most talented and dedicated students an outlet to perform masterworks. The orchestra presents a three-concert series each year, and members have exclusive invitations to participate in readings and master classes with top artists in the instrumental music industry.
