At a Toys for Tots collection celebration in Sharpsburg, medical offices joined Piedmont Newnan Hospital and Piedmont Fayette Hospital to deliver all the toys collected for disadvantaged children in Coweta and Fayette counties.

At the event, 6-year-old Nathan Brown bravely walked up to U.S. Marine Lieutenant Colonel James Ruvalcaba and offered him all the money he had–his pocket change–to buy even more toys for children.

Lt. Ruvalcaba is Fayette County’s Toys for Tots coordinator.

Ruvalcaba accepted Nathan’s gift, thanked him for his generosity and shook his hand.

Nathan’s mother, Julie Brown, works at Piedmont Heart and says her two children would not allow her to leave a store this holiday season without buying a toy to donate to Piedmont’s Toys for Tots effort, which resulted in the collection of more than 2,500 gifts for area children.
