The sights and sounds of Christmas filled downtown Newnan on Dec. 13 for the city’s annual Christmas parade. The theme this year is a “Storybook Christmas.” From the enormous number of people attending the event it seemed as if the majority of Coweta County’s 130,000 residents were all in downtown Newnan by the time the parade began shortly after 6 p.m. Streetlights were glowing and the crowd was cheering as the many entries in the parade passed by. And prior to the parade there were a host of Santa’s elves moving through the crowd and passing out Christmas goodies to the kids. Photo/Ben Nelms.
I doubt the big inflow of taxes reduces the property tax burden by residents. The commissioners will blow it on…
