Recent unemployment figures show that Peachtree City’s jobless rating is decreasing. While the number of businesses registered in the city has remained essentially steady over the past year, city records show that approximately 1,700 businesses employ nearly 14,000 people.
Records from October show nearly 1,100 registered non-home-based businesses in the city. That number has held relatively steady for the past year, though there was a small dip in the number of businesses in March.
The city’s non-home-based businesses account for 12,641 employees. The city’s 10 largest employers are Cooper Lighting, NCR, Panasonic, Hoshizaki, Alenco, Walmart, Southland Nursing Home, Avery Dennison, Comcast and Amcor.
Peachtree City is also home to more than 600 home-based businesses and several nonprofits.
The number of home-based businesses held steady during the past year, from just under 600 in October 2013 to just over 600 in October 2014. Home-based businesses account for 796 employees.
The city is also home to several nonprofit companies. Those organizations employ 416 people.
In all, Peachtree City businesses employ more than 13,850 people.
