The Peachtree City Police Department is about to kickoff the 2014 “Light up the Night” toy drive with a drop-of location at the Walmart on Ga. Highway 54 West.
To ensure that local families in need can have a joyous holiday, the department is asking for donations of new unwrapped toys for both girls and boys. The age range should be from 2 years to 17 years of age. In lieu of toys, monetary donations can also be made at Walmart or at the police department at 350 Ga. Highway 74 South. Businesses and civic organizations can make a contribution by contacting Capt. Stan Pye at 770-487-8866.
Light up the NIght will be held at Walmart on Nov. 26, 28 and 29 from 5-9 p.m. and on Dec. 4, 5, 11 and 12 from 5-9 p.m.
“The toy drive has been a huge success and last year over 80 kids were assisted by virtue of this program,” Pye said. “Volunteers from the police department and the Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.) contribute many hours of their time to make this program successful. This year the police department wishes to make this the most prosperous toy drive and holiday fund raiser the department has ever observed.”
Pye added that anyone wishing to make a contribution to this program can also stop by the police department during normal business hours.
For more information on locations and/or donations please contact Captain Stan Pye at 770-487-8866.
