Mobile methamphetamine lab located

On Wednesday Nov. 5, at approximately 8:07 p.m. Fayette County Sheriff’s deputies responded to 104 Shiloh Drive at the Shiloh Mobile Home Park to investigate possible drug activity.

Deputies located what they suspected to be a mobile Meth lab inside the residence. The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Narcotic Team responded to assist and secure the scene.

During the investigation the homeowner, Daniel Ray Minix, 49, of Peachtree City, was taken into custody, charged with the manufacturing of methamphetamine.

The Drug Enforcement Agency’s Clandestine Lab team was notified and responded to clean the scene, removing the hazardous materials located inside the residence.

“This is such a portable way of making Meth; the entire lab can be placed in a backpack. Although the chemicals involved are volatile it did not pose a threat outside of the mobile home. This method is for individual use. This is not a lab that produces enough meth for sales,” said Sheriff Barry Babb.

Burglary, perpetrator in custody

On Thursday, Nov. 6, at approximately 2:07 a.m. Fayette County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to 162 Tri County Road in Brooks to investigate an intrusion alarm on an adjacent building located next to the residence.

Upon arrival deputies located a Ford Ranger pickup truck parked in the roadway just west of the incident location. As they continued on to the residence deputies heard movement and observed two subjects carrying items from the adjacent building.

Upon seeing the deputies, the subjects fled on foot and were ordered to stop. One of the offenders, Rudy William Maddock, 31, of Brooks, was taken into custody. Maddock was charged with burglary and possession of marijuana, said Sheriff Babb.

An on-duty city of Fayetteville K-9 unit was used unsuccessfully to track the other perpetrator. Investigators have leads for the other perpetrator and are following up on those.
