Mrs. Laurlene “Billie” Stone, 91, of Fayetteville, Ga., died September 30, 2014.
She was a faithful member of Lisbon Baptist Church. She was born October 18, 1922 in Marshall County, Ala. to the late Z.D. Burgett and Vera Heard.
Mrs. Stone was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years Robert H. Stone.
She is survived three children, Jean & Bobby Kerlin, Harold & Cecilia Stone, and Wayne & Cile Stone; eight grandchildren, Julie Kerlin, Jackie & Gregg Aikin, Jennifer Kerlin Carroll, Joanna Kerlin all of Fayetteville, Scott & Julia Stone of Sharpsburg, Tracey & Ken Hobbs of Loganville, Missy & Vladi Martinez of Fayetteville, Michelle & Matt Vining of Kapolei, Hawaii; twenty great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Cecil & Margaret Stone of Leeds, Ala. A special thanks to her caregivers Lynn Kelley and Tammy Appling.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 5, 2014 at 3 p.m. at Lisbon Baptist Church. She will lie in state from 2 to 3 p.m. Pastor Danny Wilson, and Rev David Rathbun will officiate, and the burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 4, 2014 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
