Johnson honored by Touchdown Club

Andrew Johnson of McIntosh is among more than 20 student-athletes being honored this weekend by the Touchdown Club of Atlanta-National Football Foundation Chapter for football and scholastic achievements.

The special recognition is to take place Sunday at the annual TCA-NFF Scholarship banquet at the CNN Omni Center.

Each student receives a plaque and scholarship that can be used the school of his or her choice. More than $30,000 in scholarships will be awarded.

Everyone attending the banquet will also receive an invitation to a special preview tour of the new College Football Hall of Fame, which is scheduled to open next fall. Tickets for the event and the Hall of Fame preview tour can be purchased online at www.touchdownclubofatlanta.com.

Brock Meeker of East Coweta is also among the 20 players begin honored. Student manager scholarship awards are being presented to seven students from around the state.

The Touchdown Club of Atlanta is the second-oldest independent Touchdown Club in the country, founded in the fall of 1938.
