Every night upon the closing of Al’s Grocery Store, the produce and meat sections come alive and take over the store! Potato, the new root in the store, isn’t happy about having to sit around all day waiting to be “chosen” by a human. Radish and Broccoli try to warn her of the dangers of exploring but Potato can’t stop dreaming about seeing the world. Meanwhile, in the meat section, Big Ham decides that the only way to stop the meat section from shrinking is to attack the produce section and take their prime spot in the store. The new cut of beef, Rib Eye, isn’t too certain about Big Ham’s plan – or Big Ham’s sanity. To top all this off, Tomato thinks he’s getting a soft spot, Little Ham is nowhere to be found and the grape is starting to ferment! Filled with puns, action, and drama, “Meat Gone Bad” is a gloriously goofy and utterly hilarious play that will leave everyone, from the youngest sprout to the oldest ham, laughing their peels off! An “After Easter, Easter Egg Hunt “sponsored by the Optimist Club of Peachtree City and the Peachtree City Fire Department is today. The annual Easter Egg Hunt had to be canceled last Saturday due to the rainy weather, but it has been rescheduled for today with registration starting at 9:30 a.m. and the Hunt beginning at 10:30 a.m. Come visit with the Easter Bunny, enjoy games such as the moonwalk, face painting and the fishing game. The Peachtree City Fire Department will have some fun safety activities along with their Education Bus and Fire Trucks. The Easter Egg Hunt is free and for children ages 2 through 11. The Easter Egg Hunt will be held at Shakerag Park on McIntosh Trail/Kelly Drive near the amphitheater. Bring your own Easter basket or decorate your own Easter bag. Please no pets. The sights and sounds of The Greatest Generation will come alive when the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Dixie Wing hosts the eleventh annual “WWII Heritage Days” April 26-27. The history festival will be held at The Historical Airpower Facility, Atlanta Regional Airport-Falcon Field in Peachtree City from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. both days.The weekend will again feature historic aircraft, antique cars, vintage military vehicles, guest speakers, education displays, demonstrations by reenactors portraying Allied and Axis troops, and activities for school age kids. Highlights include an opening ceremony recognizing local WWII veterans and a 1940’s hangar dance.
The theme of the 2014 opening ceremony, Honoring The Women of The Greatest Generation, will pay tribute to women who served in the military and on the Home Front. Legacy Christian Church of Senoia is hosting a marriage conference through WinShape Marriage today. The event is from 10 a.m. to 2p.m. and Legacy is inviting the whole community to attend. The Coweta-Fayette Auburn Club will hold its 11th annual social and dinner meeting, at the Flat Creek Country Club in Peachtree City. Rod Bramblett, Director of Broadcast Services and lead announcer for the Auburn IMG Network, is the scheduled keynote speaker. Bramblett received national attention from his now famous radio calls “Miracle in Jordan Hare” and “Kick Six” made during the 2013 Auburn University football season. He was named Sports Illustrated’s play-by-play announcer of the year for 2013. The Senoia Area Historical Society (SAHS) is sponsoring an easy 3-hour bicycle tour of historic Senoia for bicyclists of all ages and abilities. The tour is great for people interested in the history of the area, interesting architecture, tales of residents past and present, and the sites where such films and TV episodes have been shot. The tour starts at 9 a.m. It will begin and end at the SAHS Headquarters/Museum at 6 Couch Street in Senoia, where riders will have the opportunity to view a brief history of the town and images of some of Senoia’s key citizens and structures from the past, then ride through the Senoia Historic District, making stops in front of homes and churches.
