Two Atlanta men were arrested Feb. 27 by agents with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Tactical Narcotics Team (TNT) on methamphetamine trafficking charges in a buy-bust operation in north Fayette County. The bust netted 5.6 ounces of suspected crystal methamphetamine.
Charged in the incident were Demario S. Carter, 27, for trafficking in methamphetamine and Ronald E. Alexander, 31, for party to a crime/trafficking in methamphetamine, according to jail records.
Sheriff Barry Babb said the arrests came after TNT undercover agents acting on information were able to set up a deal to purchase the drugs.
The buy-bust operation occurred near a business in the area of Ga. Highway 85 and Ga. Highway 279 in north Fayette County, Babb said.
TNT agents prior to the bust exchanged $3,200 for 160 grams, or 5.6 ounces, of suspected crystal meth, said Babb.
