Sandy Creek’s DECA team attends conference

Members of Sandy Creek High’s DECA (Distributive Education Club of America) attended the state’s recent Fall Leadership Conference with seven of the participants earning Statesman awards.
  
A total of 20 Sandy Creek DECA members attended the conference held in Atlanta at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel. Of those students, seven passed the Statesman exam, which tests members’ knowledge about DECA. Members must score a 90 percent or better. Earning their Statesman pins were Logan Bolton, David Dixon, Ciera Houston, Mykaela Lindo, Jacob Reynolds, Kali Williams and Alexa Yanar.

DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneur in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the world. The Fall Leadership Conference gives members an opportunity to attend workshops, listen to keynote speakers and participate in teamwork and networking activities.
