Peachtree City Police want to speak with a woman who was approached July 6 in the Kedron Kroger parking lot by one of the teens arrested in connection to the armed hijacking a short time later in the Walmart parking lot in Peachtree City.
Peachtree City Police spokesman Mark Brown on Wednesday said information developed by the department’s criminal investigation division indicates that one of the teens approached a woman in her vehicle in the Kroger parking in the Kedron Village shopping center prior to the carjacking at Walmart that occurred at approximately 2:30 p.m.
Brown said the teenage was described as a black male with dreadlocks and wearing a red shirt and khaki pants. Brown said the teen approached the car and knocked on the window while the woman was inside the vehicle. The male then left the area and attempted no further contact with the woman. Brown noted that the woman’s vehicle contained a child’s car seat.
Four teenage males aged 14-16 subsequently carjacked a shopper at the Walmart and led officers on a high-speed chase before the vehicle was stopped at Cascade Road and Interstate 285.
Brown asked that the woman in the Kroger parking lot contact police at 770-487-8866 or by using the tip line at www.peachtree-city.org/police “Crime Tips”
