Several residents have complained to the Georgia Department of Public Health about suspicious phone calls purporting to be surveys “from the health department.”
The caller asks questions on ethnicity and religion, among others, and may be trying to sell goods or services. DPH’s Office of the Inspector General is investigating the phone calls.
DPH does occasionally use telephone surveys but will never ask for religious or credit card information and will never try to sell goods or services, officials said.
