The Fred will host two Grammy Award Winning bands, Los Lobos and Los Lonely Boys May 18 as the opening show of the Lexus of South Atlanta Summer Concert Series.
An American Grammy Award winning rock band from Texas, known as Los Lonely Boys, will take the stage at 8 p.m. This remarkable trio of brothers has been making music together since they were small children and now have a decade of professional experience under their belts as well. Los Lonely Boys write, sing and play music drawn from diverse sources, blending their influences into a seamless style. Hits include “Heaven”, “Fly Away” and “Believe”.
The triple-Grammy Award winners, Los Lobos released their debut album in 1978. The band broke wide with 1984’s “How Will the Wolf Survive?” In 1987 they released their follow-up “By the Light of the Moon,” and also recorded Ritchie Valens covers for the soundtrack to the film “La Bamba.” Their version of the title track became a No. 1 hit for the band.
This is the first concert in the summer concert series presented by Lexus of South Atlanta. Other shows include World Classic Rockers June 8, The Temptations and The Four Tops, June 29, The Fab Four July 12, Toad the Wet Sprocket July 13, Where the Action is featuring Paul Revere & The Raiders, Mary Wilson of the Supremes, The Association and Mitch Ryder on July 20, Grand Funk Railroad and the Spin Doctors on August 10, Huey Lewis and the News August 23 and Hotel California on Sept. 13.
