A 20-year-old Peachtree City man was arrested Monday afternoon after assaulting a woman inside his home and threatening to kill her, police said.
Because Albert Ensell Jr., 20, of 234 Twiggs Corner, was armed and reportedly agitated, the police department’s Special Response Team was summoned, and a negotiator convinced Ensell to leave the residence where he was arrested peacefully, police said.
Ensell was charged with aggravated assault, kidnapping, false imprisonment, simple battery, making terroristic threats and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, police said.
According to police, Ensell assaulted the victim, pointed a gun at her and threatened to kill her while also preventing her from leaving the residence. The victim was able to slip away after Ensell fell asleep, police said.
Following Ensell’s arrest, the pistol that was reportedly used during the incident was located in Ensell’s residence during the execution of a search warrant, police said.
The incident was initially reported to police around 2:30 p.m.
