Family members of a 70-year-old Zebulon man are asking for help in locating their father who has not been seen heard from since Dec. 22.
Daughter Cindy Pollette said she last heard from her father, Philip E. Chiges, on Dec. 22 when she spoke with him by phone.
“We talk regularly, twice a day every day,” Pollette said. “He’s never been one to disappear. I just can’t see him staying gone.”
Pollette, who lives in Hampton, said her father lives alone and while he does have some dementia, he has never wandered off. Pollette said her father liked to walk along U.S. Highway 19 in Zebulon to visit local stores.
Pollette said the door to Chige’s Zebulon home was found locked and the car in the driveway, though his car keys and wallet have not been found.
“His birthday was Jan. 10,” Pollette said, noting that Chiges is close with family members. “We are desperately searching for him. He would never miss Christmas with his family or stay out of communication for this long. There’s just no trace of him.”
Pollette said law enforcement and K-9 units have searched area properties but have found nothing.
